Understand your tool
How are your calorie needs estimated?
The calculator uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and your activity level to estimate daily energy needs. Choose Gentle (10%), Moderate (15%) or Higher (20%), or select “I want to enter my calorie deficit”. Results account for the tool’s limits and show the actual deficit applied. This is an educational simulation, not a prescription.

Frequently asked questions
How does BMR differ from daily energy expenditure?
BMR estimates energy use at rest. Daily expenditure adds an approximation of routine activity, so your selected activity level changes the result.
Is the calorie result exact?
No. Equations and activity factors are estimates. Treat the number as a starting point and consider your progress and individual assessment.
